Ocala Real Estate Agents, Ocala Horse Farm Brokers

Nancy Johnson
I was born in Palm Beach County, Florida. Prior to moving to the Ocala area, I also had the pleasure of living in several other cites in Florida including Sarasota, Lake Placid, and St. Cloud. I worked at a bank for a few years preparing loan documents, opening accounts and all types of customer service. I worked for several attorneys who specialized in real estate and probate. In 1995 my husband, Don, and I purchased a turf farm in Osceola County. We are now working with our son, Travis, to develop a 600 acre turf farm in northwest Marion County.

The move to Marion County was motivated by our interest in the horse industry. My daughter, Erin rode western pleasure with the Paint Horse Association during her teenage years. Don was very successful in the Reined Cow Horse Association and I am a member of the National reining Horse Association and enjoy working with a trainer and showing my reining horses.

Having moved many times in my life, I understand the importance of properly advertising and promoting property when the owner needs to sell and the necessity of finding the perfect property that will meet the criteria and exceed the expectations of the buyer. I enjoy the challenges of finding the best property for our customers and working to making the closing process as easy as possible.

Jane Mabe
Originally from New York State, I have been a resident of Marion County since 1997. My passion is my family and my animals. Through the years I have had tremendous opportunities to work in a field I love- it has all been horse related in some way or another!! I attribute a lot of my success in real estate to the knowledge I attained in other professions.

After college, I worked as a manager of a 30 stall Quarter Horse show barn. Following that postition I was employed for several years by Farnam companies as a sales representative and then was hired as the Northeast regional sales manager for Straight Arrow products. Soon after moving to Ocala, I took a position as the manager of the Ocala Equestrian Complex, a multi-facited horse show facility servicing many breeds.

My husband Steve is also heavily involved in the horse industry. He is a farrier by trade, and holds judging cards with the NRHA, AQHA and USEF. We have raised two children here in Marion County and are proud grandparents as well!!

Living your dreams every day- It doesn't get much better than that!!

Born and raised in Rochester, NY I moved to Ocala over 10 years ago to further my career as a horse trainer and breeding manager. I have raised world class horses in the quarter horse industry and now call Marion County my home. I gradually moved into a new phase of my career in sales, selling horse trailers and U-Dump Trailers while working on obtaining my real estate license. I am grateful to all the people I formed good relationships with, as it has opened many doors for more opportunities. I look forward to continuing these relationships and forming new ones in a new capacity as I locate the ideal place for you or your next champion!

Phil Poulos
Hi my name is Phil Poulos and my wife Gail and I have made our home in Ocala. Gail and I have been married for thirty-four years and have two children and we are blessed to have four wonderful grandchildren, (not that I'm biased or anything!).

I am originally from New York. My family moved to Fort Lauderdale when I was fifteen. In high school I enjoyed baseball and wrestling. Following high school I joined a bowling league and that is where I met my best friend, my wife. Gail and I continued to live in Fort Lauderdale after we were married, but in 1979 we moved to Lake Placid, Florida. We raised our children in Lake Placid but once they were grown up we decided a move to Ocala would bring us closed in distance to our family.

After retiring from Highlands County a new career was just what I needed. I achieved my Real Estate License and joined Homes To Ranches Realty, Inc. I now have the exciting opportunity to meet new people and help them find their dream homes. Our changes don't stop there! Gail has left her long time career in the lending industry to assist me in the real estate field. Her knowledge of loans and the closing process is a huge asset to me and my clients. Real estate has not only become a new career for the tow of us, but a new adventure in life. We enjoy working together, we enjoy what we do, and we really enjoy the people we meet and interact with.

Todd Rossi
I was born and raised in Smethport, Pennsylvania – a quaint little town nestled in the foothills of the Allegany Mountains. It is where I was struck by “horse fever” and started showing horses in my early teenage years. After college, I returned to my hometown to start my career in the social services field, working with at risk youth and their families, and get back into the swing of showing horses as my hobby. Ten years ago, I took a two week vacation to Ocala and absolutely loved all that it had to offer – fabulous weather, a friendly community and of course, some of the most magnificent horse farms you could ever imagine!! It didn’t take me long to decide that I wanted to re-locate and within six months I was residing in Ocala and have been a resident of Marion County for the past ten years. I continued my career in Social Services, and after twelve years in that field decided it was time for a change. I recall how exciting it was when I was searching for a home and decided to pursue a career in the real estate field to help others fulfill their dreams of home ownership. I take pride in locating the ideal property for my customers and look forward to assisting you whether you are buying or selling real estate here in the horse capital of the world!

Doris Arterburn
I am very excited to be working for Homes To Ranches Realty. Their expertise coincides with what I was used to when I was a realtor in California.

After many years of flying back here to Ocala for the horse sales at OBS, my husband, who is a Thoroughbred Trainer for 26 years, finally convinced me to sell our farm in California and move to Ocala. We fell in love with the many things this community has to offer and felt it was the right place for our race horses and brood mares and babies to be. Three years ago we bought a farm in a training facility that had it’s own racetrack and moved our entire stock over.

We have 3 grown kids, one is our jockey (Brittany age 23), who attended Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, CA and was on their Rodeo Team. Jamie is 26 years old, just married jockey Joe Rocco Jr. and is expecting their first child, and is our Assistant Trainer. Our oldest son Jason is 29, still resides in California and is a Mortgage Broker. We have been involved in Sports, 4-H (Beef), Jr. Rodeo, High School Rodeo and College Rodeo.

I am a full-time real estate professional and I have helped many clients reach their goals in all types of market conditions. My guiding philosophy is to treat each of my clients as I would expect to be treated. When buying or selling a home, I’ll outline an effective sales plan that takes into consideration all of your real estate needs and goals. From the moment I meet perspective clients until the closing, I focus on not only their needs, but also on exceeding their expectations. I followed my dreams to Ocala, let me help you find yours. I also speak German

I come from the cattle ranch country of Northern Colorado. Born in 1957, my youthful summers were spent enjoying long days on horseback working large cattle ranches in the Colorado Mountains. I did a little semi-competitive roping in high school and college. Immediately following graduation at Colorado State, I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. The next 25 years were spent serving my country and I retired as a Colonel in 2005.

I met and quickly married Rita in 1993. When we left “the service” in 2005, we moved to Florida and purchased 20 acres in Ocala where we built and operated The Twin B Stables. My wife teaches college at the local University and I enjoy my new career in Real Estate. I have a Masters Degree in Business from Laverne University. I am a pilot, scuba diver, and avid outdoorsman. My wife and I enjoy travel and motor home trips.

I am excited to join the Homes to Ranches team in Aug 2008 with the goal of working in a busy office and learning the Auction aspect of the real estate business.
